On the many paths to blogging promotion one avenue some bloggers seem to overlook are blogging communities. Just like social media, these type of sites offer a chance to share your ideas and posts with others and meet like-minded people. Not only that they’re all dedicated to one thing, blogging.
Blogging communities are not to be confused with blogging directories, although some of the better directories do have a community aspect such as Blog Catalog and Blogged which is a good mix of all of it.
Most directories offer no chance to communicate and share with the other bloggers in directory, where communities have all kinds of features that promote networking. Which essentially is one very best things you can accomplish while blogging, making blogging friends.
It’s never better to go it alone, just imagine if you as a new blogger could get in touch with someone who could really help you out? Blogging communities give you that chance to make new connections with other people in your niche.

Gather
Gather – A very active and robust blogging community for the writing crowd. Connect with thousands of other people, share your perspectives and join in the conversations.
Join groups on your particular subject and invite new friends. Subscribe to feeds of your interests and stay up to date on your niche. Post your status, upload posts, photos and videos for others to see.
Blogger Luv
Blogger Luv – A fairly new blogging community that runs off WordPress!. It’s very well done and features a lot of passionate active users, a true community. Features groups and a forum as well as status updates to keep in touch with everybody.
I like this site because it’s a little bit smaller and you’ll have a better chance at standing out than at some of the other ones with millions of users.

[...] Now all these bloggers have to gather somewhere correct? In the blogosphere, an intricate system of trackbacks, blog directories, link backs exist to drive traffic. Essentially, they do not differ much from regular social communities, except being a community meant for bloggers to interact and link up with one another.
